An American Crime


The film is based on a true story about murder of Sylvia Likens.
True story: Gertrude Nadine Baniszewski at young age witnessed her father's death from a sudden heart attack, had many failures in
married life, she had 6 children and moved with 3 people.A drug addict with a stressful life.being a mother of many she
used to watch Sylvia Marie Likens, 16 and Jenny Faye Likens, 15 in exchange of $20 a week.when payment failed started to
give torture, mutilation to young girls.Sylvia Marie Likens was worst affected by her like forcing her to strip and
forcibly insert a Coca Cola bottle into her vagina in front of a group of neighborhood boys.
On October 26, 1965 Sylvia
Likens died on account of her torture.
Film: It's based on actual court transcripts from the case. Ellen Page as Sylvia Likens would be the best in film.
She would be the last person in mind after watching it.Catherine Keener as Gertrude Baniszewski, have done great acting with
sad and confused eyes.This film has sad end ending(Since true story)....
New York Times, Praised it as 'one of the best movies to appear on television in years.'

Hi! I saw this film some while ago and it was very touching movie, but also it makes me very very angry! You can't watch this film without anykind of feelings!
Ellen Page was very goog as Sylvia!
